Katie (she/her) is a warm and gentle psychologist who has experience across a range of settings, from AOD & gambling, to refugee mental health and private practice. She holds an Honours Degree in Psychology, a Masters of Health & International Development, a Diploma of Counselling and a Certificate IV in Alcohol & Other Drugs. Katie is passionate about providing high-quality psychological services to adults and her particular areas of interest include trauma, anxiety, depression, perinatal mental health, AOD, existential concerns and how psychology can be practiced across different cultures and contexts. She has an interest in schema therapy, ADHD and Autism, the perinatal period, and alcohol and other drugs.
Katie’s approach to psychological practice is informed by a Schema-Therapy Framework, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)and the principles of Motivational Interviewing (MI). She believes there is incredible depth and complexity in each individual and that the therapeutic journey we take together – should honour this. She seeks to understand the way the client sees the world with empathy and gentleness. To embark upon therapy with an individual – is a great privilege and Katie views it as a client-led, collaborative process.
